First Light
Watching and listening to the forest waking up in the morning is a fantastic experience. As the sun rose over Mt. Uran on this morning I was timelapsing the view of Uran's peak whilst absentmindedly facing the other direction and watching each ridge wait patiently to be sequentially graced by the new day.
As is the case all too often, the view in the other direction was just as staggering and with only one set of eyes and one camera to capture the seemingly endless views, I had to avert my attention, recompose my camera and capture the next image. Now, facing back towards the peak, two fortuitously placed mountains guided a streak of sunlight over the dormant forest covered face of Uran and, as though mimicking the patient nature of the ridges down the valley, the trees awoke and formed a single file line ready to bask momentarily in the sunlight before passing the gift on to each neighbouring well-rested tree. |
