By Process of Imagination

‘By Process of Imagination’ aims to be a form of escapism in itself, just like one’s own imaginary creations would be. The character is progressing through their minds' creations as they fall away from reality to the melodies that stimulate their imagination. As you read through the project and take in each picture, try to see what connects them, place yourself in the character's position and let your mind be carried into the scene.
The story behind the project is inspired by both its literary counterpart and the sounds of Yann Tiersen’s ‘Eusa’. I created a mobile application to allow readers to explore the project further; delve into the creation of the images and learn more about their connection to the music. Each image is a combination of photographs that were taken for a specific use within the scene, no CGI was used for any portion of the work. A place, an object, a melody; thoughts stir.
Doors to another time, another place, another form exposed.
Provoked freedom, an escape.
Thought and time scatter.
Progression becomes stagnant without choice.
Subconscious creations take hold,
rife with untruths and distorted logic.
Leaping from one state to another,
a playground of thought lies in wait.
Familiarities are subtle and whilst the past is recognised,
the future stays shrouded.
Layer, upon layer, upon layer, seemingly adrift.
Suspended.
As the journey draws to a close, conclusions are absent.
This world is forever present if called upon.
All by process of imagination.
